Facelift Long Island
A facelift, also called a rhytidectomy, is a cosmetic surgery that carefully removes excess tissue and lifts and tightens the underlying tissue. Through this, wrinkles and age lines disappear from the face, and a more contoured and youthful appearance is achieved. The facelift is a common procedure for age range 40s-60s.
The Facelift Consultation
Your treatment will begin with a consultation with Dr. Layliev, who will determine whether you are a suitable candidate for the facelift procedure. Your facial skin will be analyzed, along with your overall health. Your complete medical history will be discussed, including any allergies, past procedures, and medications or supplements being taken.
It is critical that you bring a good picture of yourself in your 20s, 30s, or 40s so that Dr. Layliev can understand the extent of facial fat atrophy and the angles of descent.
If it appears that you have lost significant fat from under your skin, you may need a fat transfer as part of the procedure. Dr. Layliev may suggest harvesting fat from one part of your body such as the hips or thighs and using it to inject it into areas of your face that would look more youthful, achieving a similar facial volume profile that you had in your younger years.
A treatment plan will be created, which will include the incision sites and the facelift technique to be used. A date will then be scheduled for the procedure.
The Facelift Procedure
Dr. Layliev performs a facelift to remove your loose facial skin and deep wrinkles as well as to tighten your jowls, the sagging skin between the cheeks and the chin.
The treatment area is first cleaned with an antiseptic, and the incision points are clearly marked. Anesthesia is then administered to ensure that you are comfortable and free of any pain during the surgical session.
Incisions are typically made behind the ear and in front of the ear in natural skin creases. The incisions are planned in a way that ensures that they can be well camouflaged after the surgery.
The skin is then lifted. Dr. Layliev spends significant time on rejuvenating and tightening the deep layer of tissue under your skin called the SMAS (Superficial muscular aponeurotic system) so that your skin heals without tension, allowing for a natural-appearing facelift rejuvenation.
If there is any excess skin after the procedure, it is carefully trimmed away, and then staples, stitches, or glue is used to close the incision. The incision site is covered using sterile surgical gauze to avoid any unwanted infections.
You will be given post-surgical care directions from Dr. Layliev. These must be followed as closely as possible to avoid complications and to ensure as comfortable a recovery process as possible.
Are you an ideal candidate?
Not every person who wants to diminish the signs of aging is an ideal candidate for a facelift procedure. You are an ideal candidate if:
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You do not have any bleeding problems.
- You are not taking any blood thinners.
- You have not had any other facial-rejuvenation procedures done recently.
- You do not have an infection, wound, or skin condition in the treatment area.
- You have realistic expectations regarding the results of this procedure.
Facelift Cost
The cost of a facelift from Dr. Layliev will be impacted by a number of factors. These include the overall length of the surgical session, the facelift technique employed, the choice of anesthesia, and the amount of tissue that is removed/adjusted.
Dr. Layliev will determine whether you are an appropriate candidate for a facelift and will help you understand the benefits of surgery. Request a consultation online or call to schedule an appointment.
